Because it detects only cell-phone up-link signal and therefore is insensitive to base-station signal. It equips with a squelch knob that allow the user to optimize the sensitivity for his/hers application. The adjustable sensitivity function is especially useful for locating the cell phone in use.

It is designed for applications in those areas that jamming is not allowed. It is very suitable for patrolmen in jails, military campgrounds, court houses, examination rooms, executive conference room...........

The detecting "up-link" frequency bands are selected according to local service installations. Since the frequency bands allocated for cell phones are country dependent, buyer should indicate the location this device will be used when place order.

Countries such as Thailand, Japan, Mexico etc. allocate completely frequency bands especially for WCDMA application.
